CESU Préfinancé: Ceiling Raised to €2,591 in 2026

Great news for companies and their employees: as of January 1st 2026, the annual CESU préfinancé ceiling has been raised from €2,540 to €2,591 per beneficiary — an increase of €51. This revaluation, governed by articles L.7233-4 and following of the French Labour Code, reaffirms the government's commitment to supporting access to personal services.

What Is the CESU Préfinancé?

The CESU préfinancé is a prepaid payment voucher, similar to meal vouchers or holiday vouchers, that allows employees to pay for personal services. It can be issued as a booklet of cheques or in digital form.

Each voucher is nominative and carries a predefined amount. It is funded in whole or in part by the employer or the company's CSE (Social and Economic Committee).

What Services Can You Pay for With CESU Préfinancé?

The CESU préfinancé covers all 26 recognized personal service activities as well as childcare outside the home.

At home:
- Housekeeping and ironing
- Small gardening and DIY work
- Assistance for elderly or disabled persons
- Private tutoring and homework help
- Childcare
- IT and administrative assistance

Outside the home:
- Childcare for children under 6 in group facilities (nurseries, daycares, leisure centers)
- Certified childminders
- Transport for persons with reduced mobility

Tax and Social Benefits for Employers

Implementing CESU préfinancé in your company is a powerful HR lever with significant tax advantages:

  • Social charge exemption: employer contributions to CESU préfinancé are exempt from social charges, up to the €2,591 ceiling
  • 25% tax credit: companies benefit from a tax credit equal to 25% of their contribution
  • Employer brand: offering personal services contributes to company attractiveness, talent retention, and quality of work life (QWL)

Benefits for Employees

  • Preserved purchasing power: amounts received via CESU préfinancé are not subject to income tax
  • Tax credit: personal service expenses qualify for an employee tax credit
  • Easy access: a simple payment method for everyday services (housekeeping, childcare, tutoring, etc.)
  • Up to €2,591 per year: a significant complement to compensation

How Wellmind Makes It Even Simpler

At Wellmind, we go beyond the traditional CESU préfinancé. Our platform leverages bank transfers and artificial intelligence to deliver a frictionless experience:

  • Real-time reimbursement: employees connect their bank account and get reimbursed instantly
  • No more paper receipts: AI analyzes the expense, verifies eligibility, and automatically categorizes it into the right benefit pocket
  • Validation or direct reimbursement: based on your rules, AI either requests approval or reimburses the employee directly
  • Full coverage: Wellmind covers all 26 personal service activities and much more with 9 benefit categories

What Concretely Changes in 2026

With the new €2,591 ceiling, an employer can fund up to 155 hours of housekeeping assistance per year for each employee. This is a concrete investment in your team's well-being, with tangible returns in engagement and retention.

If you haven't yet implemented a personal services benefit, 2026 is the ideal time to start. And if you already have one, make sure to update your ceilings to take full advantage of this revaluation.
